Alex Rush
Alex Rush, an experienced British seafarer, has gallantly sailed the globe since childhood, refining his skills through a lifetime of oceanic adventures. In his 14 years as a professional captain, he has gained over 90,000 nautical miles at sea. Spanning the globe, Alex has sailed across the sun-drenched Mediterranean and the azure expanses of the Caribbean, explored the rugged beauty of the Great Lakes, navigated the bustling China Sea, and completed numerous Atlantic crossings.
As a versatile professional, Alex has donned multiple hats, serving as a sailing instructor, private and charter captain on both motor and sailing yachts. His skills extend beyond the helm; Alex’s time as a marine mechanic equipped him with invaluable insights into servicing a diverse array of vessels, further enriching his maritime prowess.
Kate Rush
Kate Rush was born and raised in the Ocean State and has been intimately connected with the ocean from a young age. Her journey into professional sailing commenced seven years ago, marking the beginning of an illustrious career on the water. Achieving a significant milestone in 2022, she obtained her USCG 100-ton captain’s license, a testament to her dedication and expertise.
Throughout her sailing career, Kate has excelled in various roles, including charter chef, deckhand, and stewardess, aboard a diverse array of motor and sailing yachts. Her voyages have taken her across the globe, from the sun-kissed shores of the Caribbean to the historic ports of the Mediterranean, exploring the Great Lakes, navigating the US Eastern Seaboard and venturing to the enchanting Canari Island.
In addition to her extensive sailing experience, Kate holds a BS in Business, Environmental Management, and BA in Environmental Studies: Renewable Energy & Sustainable Design, underscoring her commitment to environmental stewardship both on and off the water.

As the newest crew member at NSC, Charlie Rush has instantly become our most cherished addition. Even in his earliest days, he has displayed a passion to life alongside the sea. Whether he's gazing at the horizon with wonder or giggling with the gulls, his presence reminds us of the beauty and excitement of discovering life’s simplest pleasures; we look forward to sharing a lifetime of many unforgettable voyages together.
