
Getting Ready for Your Charter
It’s almost time to sail away, but before that, here is a list of things to pack and tips for your trip.
You will pick up your charter at Cove Haven Marina at 101 Narragansett Ave in Barrington, RI 02806. The Narragansett Sailing offices are located in the multi-storied brown building on the south-end/left-side of the marina. Please check in on the ground floor office upon arrival and one of our staff will get you started.
Parking & Unloading: The marina has plenty of parking and carts are available to transport your items down to your charter.
Items Supplied:
Dinghy & dinghy motor
Propane grill + BBQ utensils
Galley: pots, pans, plates, eating & cooking utensils, percolator coffee pot, spatula, cork screw, can opener, colander, and so on. There are dish towels, sponges, garbage bags, and pot holders. Plus, some knives and cutting board. Overall – a well-equipped galley!
Navigation equipment: paper charts, electronic chart plotter, Eldridge current book, dividers, parallel ruler, compass, and binoculars
Safety Equipment: Life jackets, all required gear, first aid kit, tool kit
Extra engine parts: fuel filters, fan belt, etc.
Most boats have a second anchor
Interior and exterior cleaning supplies (including dish and hand soap)
Toilet paper
Each boat has a dedicated slip at the marina for use during the week
You will need to bring food, condiments, and paper towels.
We supply one set of sheets, blankets, towels, and pillows, for each cabin; but not for the settees or drop-down dinette. Please let us know if you need additional linens ahead of time.
Provisioning: Shaw’s Supermarket is located close by, as well as a liquor store.
Local Amenities: On-site swimming pool, bike path within walking distance and numerous restaurants within a 2-mile radius.
